Ros Rigby

Founding board member

Ros Rigby was elected to the Board of Europe Jazz Network in 2011, a EU funded network of 140 festivals, clubs and national organisations working across 35 countries in Europe. She was elected as President in 2014 and re-elected for a second term in 2016. She joined the Board of the Jazz Promotion Network (for the UK and Ireland) in June 2018.

Ros was also the founding director, with musician Alistair Anderson, of Folkworks, for whose trailblazing work as producers, presenters and educators in folk and traditional music she was awarded an OBE in 1999. Folkworks, with Northern Sinfonia, was a founding partner of the music venue Sage Gateshead, now called the Glasshouse International Centre for Music, where in 2001 Ros was appointed Performance Programme Director. She stepped down from this full time role in July 2016, and since then has undertaken freelance work and board memberships.
