His work, often assuming collaborative forms, is a fusion of installations, performances, DJ sets, curated sound events, field recordings, composition, custom code, theoretical essays, fiction and record releases.
Since 2018, he has directed the Cypriot-based record label Moneda and, along with Peter Eramian, he also works as the Lower Levant Company, co-representing Cyprus in the 60th Venice Biennale.
Contested Desires’s partnerships with global institutions comes at an important time, which finds us confronted with many of the contradictions that we inherited culturally. Drawing parallels with Cyprus’ history, Emiddio will develop new participatory work exploring diaspora and migration by engaging with members of social clubs in the locations of his residencies, starting the at Museo de la Memoria in Chile.
