Dize Kukrer

Dize Kükrer was born in Nicosia, the divided capital of Cyprus. After graduating from Turkish Cypriot College in 2007, she studied Fine Art at the University of Plymouth, UK, and then completed a masters in Interdisciplinary Design at Frederick University, Cyprus.

Working with time and space as a medium, and their relationship with individuals, Dize attempts to create tangible traces of overlooked occurrences in our everyday lives. Green Line and experience of the divide, amongst subjects such as psychology and philosophy of space are prominent guidelines for her spatial experiments. Apart from installations, she also has practice in the fields of painting, collage-making and creative writing. She has participated in a number of exhibitions in Cyprus’ Buffer Zone (also known as the Green Line) and has a sculpture on permanent display at Dr. Fazıl Küçük Park, Nicosia. She lives and works in Nicosia.
